“We’re going to work with the food industry to get most of the major synthetic food dyes out." - HHS Secretary RFK Jr. announced a voluntary phase-out of eight petroleum-based synthetic food dyes, securing commitments from major food companies to reformulate products and eliminate dyes in school meals. He collaborated with the FDA to approve natural dye alternatives and supported state-level bans while partnering with the NIH to research additive impacts, aiming to reduce children’s exposure to dyes linked to ADHD and hyperactivity.
